Benidorm Weather

The weather in Benidorm is excellent all year and the exceptionally mild winter weather in Benidorm is especially attractive to the older generation. The high Sierra Helada coastal mountains (nearly 1,600m) surround Benidorm and protect it from northerly winds and also ensure less rain, Benidorm only has about 60 days of rain per year. Although hardly any rain in the summer the odd thunderstorm is common with spectacular lightning and this is especially true in September/October after a long hot summer weather and is accompanied by occasional flooding. Humidity in Benidorm is very high due to the surrounding salt lakes and this can ad to the excessive heat in the summer months and so dehydration is very common. You'll more commonly notice it as the mother of all hangovers because that combined with the dehydration from alcohol can make you very ill. Drink plenty of water during the day and you'll be fine. The cooling sea breeze can also fool you into believing that factor 4 sun cream is all you need but between 12 and 4 you'll sizzle so always use a higher factor than normal and often, especially for your first couple of days weather or not you tan easily. The temperature in Benidorm can get as high as 40 C and so heat stroke and severe burns are not uncommon and could possibly ruin your holiday if you are not careful.
