We have had plenty of experience travelling to other countries and we know only too well how disorientating airports can be when you collect you luggage and make your way into the arrivals hall and so we are writing this with you in mind and hope it proves helpful and for an overview of maps and zones follow this link - Maps & Zones.
Alicante is the nearest airport approximately 60 Kmfs from Benidorm
and is a two hour flight from most UK airports. It is a relatively small
airport with only one terminal and basic airport facilities - car hire,
bureaux de change, shop, pharmacy, post office and bar/restaurant.
It certainly is not the sort of airport you would want to have a long
delay in, ok no airport is, but this one unless you make it into departures
it is very minimalist. Even if you want to go for a wander Alicante
itself is 11 kmfs away. The departure lounge has a small duty free,
Burger King and other restaurants, a few shops and a bar. Speaking
of delays I once spent 13 hours in that airport due to torrential rain and
it was the fact that we had already checked in and made it through to
departures that saved us from dementia. The bar served us all day until
3 am, never refused us a drink and no problem getting on the plane and
I dare say at some UK airports we would not have made it.

By Bus:
Benidorm now, only in the last few years, has an airport bus which runs 4 times a day. It is about 7 euros one-way and the journey takes about 1 hour. The bus terminates at the central bus station on Avenida Europa in the Levante area (see map)

By Taxi:
A taxi from the airport will cost you roughly EUR60 (£40 approx) and is about a 30-40 minute journey
By Car:
The A-7 Autopista motorway takes you straight to benidorm. It is a toll road costing a few euros. And donft worry you wonft miss Benidorm with its skyscraper skyline and the tallest Hotel Bali (186m) can be seen from miles away. A more scenic route, albeit much slower is the N332.
